Resident from northern British Columbia to Labrador, and across Canada and the United States southward into Mexico and Central America. Native to Eurasia. Introduced into Hawaii, South America, southern Africa, Australia, and New Zealand

Notes
The House Sparrow was introduced into North America from Europe in the 1850s. It has spread across the continent, and usually stays near people and their buildings. It is quite aggressive, and will take over the nesting sites of other birds, often forcibly evicting the previous occupants.
